Dog Training: When we have enough volunteers, a new class can be scheduled.
The PPFL Novice Obedience Training Course is with Joyce at Cactus Canine Training Center. Volunteers can choose which dog they’d like to handle froma pre-selected list of dogs and may recommend a dog, all PPFL fosters welcome. Must be able to commit to ALL classes (6 sessions) as well as working with the dog 3-4x a week. If you are not able to commit to all of this, but would still like to participate when you can, you are welcome to attend classes when you can with a prior RSVP. RSVP by emailing volunteer@pimapawsforlife.org.
Adoption Events:
Volunteers Needed: Transporters, Setup/breakdown, Handlers, Info, and Adoption Counselors
Petsmart : Every Weekend!
River and Orange Grove Location 3850 W. River Rd.: Saturdays 10am-5pm, Sundays 12pm-4pm (Dogs and Cats) – Volunteers Needed: Transporters (1-2), Handlers (2-4) Minimum of two hour shifts please to help us with scheduling! Please let us know by 11am Friday!
Saturday Shifts 9:30am-1:30pm or 1:30pm-5:30pm
Transporters meet at 9:30 at PPFL.
Sunday shift 11:45-4:30 (shift includes breakdown)
Transporters meet at 11:30 at PPFL
Petsmart: 2nd and 4th Saturday of the Month:
Oracle/Wetmore Location 4374 N. Oracle Rd. Saturday 10am-2pm (Dogs Only). Volunteers Needed: Transporters (2-3) for both ways, Handlers (1-2)
If you can help with the following shifts, please email and let me know by Friday 11am. We are asking volunteers to commit to a minimum 2hr shift.
Saturday shift 9:45am-2:15pm (shift includes setup/breakdown)
Transporters meet at 9:30am at PPFL
Transporters– email the size of your size vehicle and how many/size of dogs you are able/willing to transport. This helps us determine which dogs will be attending the adoption events.
Volunteer Orientation Meeting: September 13th at 9am-11am
Location: Pima Paws for Life 2509-2 W. Zinnia Ave. It will cover who and what PPFL is, some of the illnesses we see, safety policies, dog-walking guidelines, and how to use the Walker Board. Wear closed-toe shoes, as there is instructional dog-walking/cat socializing afterwards under the supervision of a lead volunteer.
Restaurant Nights:
Boston Market Fundraiser! : Wednesday, September 9th, 4pm-9pm. For Each Flyer presented at time of purchase, 15% will be donated towards the medical care of the animals at Pima Paws For Life. Jersey Mike's Subs: September 9th-13th - Jersey Mike's Subs is celebrating their one year anniversary at their Speedway location and will do so by donating a portion of proceeds from sub sales from Sept 9th-13th at BOTH Tucson locations! PPFL will get $1 from every sub sold at both stores those 5 days (the coupon is not required to receive this offer)!
La Cocina Tuesdays For Tucson: October 27, 2015 5pm-10pm – 15% of all dinner sales will be donated to PPFL. More info pending as time draws near!
